with this project i learned a new workflow in order to create dresses and clothing with a clean topology. I have started with a simulated cloth from Marvelous Designer, exported it and then reset its position to flat and exported that as well. Then in zBrush using zRemesher i cleaned its topology (going from triangles to quads), then using transfer attributes i transferred the UVs from the original flat mesh to the new retopologised one, and then the vertex positions of the simulated one.
Doing this for all the pieces gave me the full low poly gown with super clean topology.
